"It's time to stand up and take responsibility for what you brought into this world!" Children who witness domestic violence are more likely to exhibit behavioral and physical health problems including depression, anxiety, and violence towards peers.
"BREAK THE CYCLE! You CAN control who you are. Use your past to help build you into a better person than who/what the statistics say you will become." Men who witnessed domestic violence as children are ten times as likely to abuse their own partners and children than those who did not witness domestic violence.
"You're not alone. Domestic violence isn't something to be ashamed of (unless you are the abuser). It happens all over the world. This doesn't make it right. Get out, Get HELP. Try and help those that are in the situation." 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime. In 43% of households where domestic violence occurs, at least one child under the age of 12 lives in the home. More than 3 million children witness acts of violence in the home every year in the United States. One incident of Domestic Violence is reported in the United States every minute but the actual number of incidents is estimated to be every NINE SECONDS. Young men that witness domestic violence are told everyday either by statistics, individuals, are media that they will more then likely be an abuser too. It is up to you on who you will become. The world is going to try and break you down but it is your job to stand up and be who you WANT to be. |
